Vocations 2006

Vocations Awareness Week 2006: 10th -16th September 2006

• The annual Vocations Mass will take place on Thursday 14th September in St Mirin's Cathedral @7pm
• Details of other events for the week will follow
• Resources for vocations-related Masses, Holy Hours and Prayers can be found on the resources page

2006 will see the commission continue to promote Vocations within the Diocese.

Our key theme will again be based on 'In Verbo Tuo' (New Vocations for a New Europe), which was published by the Vatican in 1997 in response to the 'Vocations Crisis' in Europe, and its key themes are

• Creating a culture of vocation
• Widening the 'idea' of Vocation
• "if no one calls, how can anyone respond?"

Vocations 2006 - Events

Based on the above themes, it is the commission's intention to attempt to 'promote a culture of vocation' in the Diocese by organising various events to highlight the key themes from 'In Verbo Tuo'. Also we will continue to provide Parishes and Organisations throughout the Diocese with information and resources to help them to spread the sentiments of In Verbo Tuo to the people of the Diocese.
